gypsy slums on the outskirts of belgrade

I've seen my share of shitty places, but this tops them all ... sick dogs, skinny horses, sick people, dirty children, trash everywhere, smells like disease.

the deadly duo

my dad bought this old Zeiss box camera 15-20 years ago at a flea market here in Belgrade, and it's been lying around collecting dust ever since. Well, until now ... I shot two rolls of Rollei Retro 80s film with it, and here are the results. The lens is as shitty as it gets, the camera is really a pain in the ass to use, but it's fun. Gritty, grainy, half blurry images make it a perfect camera for Belgrade. It kind of works well with the energy here. SRBIJA!

my friend alexander binder surprised me the other day with his new book, TRAUM. great work as usual, you can order it here from BLURB ... the quality is great, I never trusted these 'printing on demand' places, but this is really good. go go go

ROLLEI B&W DISPOSABLE CAMERA

I tested this little camera and I really like it. It's loaded with REAL b&w film (not the one you bring to your local 1-hour photo store, but you have to process it in b&w developer), ROLLEI RETRO 400s, and I processed it using D-76, for 12 minutes at 20 degrees celsius.
The perfect use for this camera would be to take it places where you don't wanna worry about your equipment --- when you go out drinking with your friends, to soccer matches, bad neighborhoods etc etc. the list is endless.
