I came across some old work from 2005 I think. She was ODing in the street, in the middle of the day, puking some gross green shit, and people were just walking by, no one gave a shit. So I called the 911 and started shooting















(lately I'm shooting more pigeons and flowers, the nice thing about them is that they don't overdose)

Kühn, Heinrich(1866-1944), German photographer and scientist, born in Dresden. He studied science and medicine in Leipzig and Freiburg, and mastered microphotography in Berlin. After settling in Innsbruck in 1888 he did cell and tissue research and interested himself in applied photo-chemistry and-physics. From 1891 he worked intensively on optics. In 1896 he joined the Vienna Camera Club and with Hugo Henneberg and Hans Watzek (1848-1903) formed the so-called ‘Vienna Trifolium’. The three of them travelled to Italy, Germany, and Holland and distributed their work as gum prints, to considerable international acclaim. Kühn specialized in portraits and landscapes. In 1904 a visit from Stieglitz in Innsbruck led to an extensive correspondence that lasted until 1931. In July 1907 he met Stieglitz, Steichen and Frank Eugene at Tutzing in Bavaria, where the four of them tried out the new autochrome process. Kühn's subsequent experiments with autochrome were influenced both by Helmholtz's theories of human vision (e.g. differential focus) and, initially, by ideas about the expressive and symbolic properties of colour prevalent among the artistic avant-garde; later, he moved towards ‘straight’ photography as objective record. In 1914-15 Kühn ran a photoschool in Innsbruck, and in the 1920s dedicated himself mainly to writing and to experiments in photographic technology. Of his c.260 surviving autochrome plates, 213 are in the Austrian National Library. Kühn's letters to Stieglitz are at Yale University.

scanning contact sheets, backed up as hell

for the past couple of months I was totally consumed by a commercial gig I worked on, that I couldn't really do my own stuff ... so now I'm trying to catch up, scanning contact sheets, and I have to say that it sucks - the only good thing about it is finding some random shots of my daughter

lame kid actor

I've been planning to write this for a while .... so, two weeks ago, we decided to go to the movies, to see THE ROAD (last time we saw a movie in the theater was more then two years ago, before Maya was Born, we went to see THE DEPARTED). The book, by Cormack McCarthy, was AMAZING, Viggo Mortensen is a good actor, so why not. BUT, we had no clue they casted A MOUSE to play his son. Yep, whiny little kid who was obviously casted cause he looks like Charlize Theron, who plays his mother, Viggo's wife.
In the book, you get the impression that the kid is maybe 6-8 years old, but in the movie he is probably around 12, but acts like he is 3! annoying annoying annoying. very distracting.
Aside from that ----->
Viggo was great, cinematography amazing - colors, depth of field, all really really good .....
also, the ending in the books is much better. So my advice is - read the book.
